New Private Server Idea!
So I was playing a game called, Adventure Quest Worlds, (BattleOn) and I had an idea that could possibly be implemented to a private server. So in this game you keep all your stuff in your inventory Including your class. There is mage, warrior, knight, etc. You equip the class from your inventory. So I know this probably would take a lot of time and effort , but I thought we could add an inventory that lets you have your class in it, so you could change classes for the appropriate situation... Also, one of my favorite DS games dragon quest 9 sentinels of the starry skies, has a lot of cool classes I want to implement. Ranger, Sage (dark wizard), minstrel (warrior/priest), gladiator, and so on. So I am not exactly sure when I am going to start working on this but hopefully soon.... When I get some work done, I will hopefully make a teaser thread with some screenshots and later on a beta. Basically this is just so I can see what you guys think.
it's a great idea but it can affort alot of time and it could be great if it had a specific tab for the classes slot ...
Very interested to see this implemented. Curious to see how it is done though. I have very little experience with coding for private servers. Just basic weapons and behaviors. Once you've completed an item that is able to change all of the base specs to that of another class and allows you to equip different items I'd love to see how it's done. Althogh, it would be your code so you don't have to release it. Just something I'd like to see happen ;P

First thing that started all this was the Runescape idea by Kieron.

Then there were some other ideas that were basically mashing one game into another.

Not to turn this idea down, but I think most people would agree that implementing a game into another game would just completely change the game and make it somewhat 'less fun'.
Well its not really mashing two games together, more like adding something useful from one game to another.

Yeah, that could be cool.

Yeah it might take a while, but hopefully it will be worth it when its done.

It sounds interesting, but I have no idea how it could be done with the way RotMG works. Equipment and stats of a character are very class-specific. Unless you're maybe suggesting it completely changes the character?

Well yes, in a way. I don't want to completely re-code the character, but I definetly want to remake them differently. I don't know stat wise, how I am going to do it but ability/weapon/armor I already have ideas for.
