Quick Question
I'm leaving for two months, having friends over to guard my house while I'm gone.
However, I do have some privacy concerns and I don't trust people in general, especially with my technology.
Friend or no friend, a risk not worth taking for the sake of anything according to me.

What's the most viable way of making sure you can't access my HDD without say a password or a USB stick as a key?
I'm not too concerned with access via internet, I'm more concerned in person.
My computer wont be traveling with me. So, I want more along the lines of password protection/encryption.
I doubt they'll go through the extra trouble of trying to crack it or even remove the HDD's.
But if the HDD's are protected even if put into another computer, that'd be swell.
Hide your PC and say it's currently being repaired. Enjoy Canada!

Put it in a gun safe in your garage maybe...

bring it to fam members house, or just have noone 'guard' the house and lock the doors and windows and if you have a 2nd car or motorcycle that you wont be taking or wont be gone during your trip then keep it parked in driveway and noone will attempt to rob the place or anything, even put up fake cams kappa. or get a silent alarm, where if someone breaks in, it notifies the police without even making a sound, so the trespasser most likely gets caught, but then again those are expensive.

also if your friends are only guarding it, and they have their own place, im sure they will barely be in your house, most likely once a day or two to check on things. im sure they would rather be at work or with their gf/bf or whatever.
Just encrypt it with TrueCrypt.

Are you trying to hide the entire content inside your computer or just a few folders and such?
just take a wire/plug that the pc cant be used w/o lul
Honestly I'd just unplug the hard drive, and hide it somewhere where no one would find it. Easiest way to make sure.
As @Kongou. said, just unplug the hard drive and take it with you or something. There's no chance they'll get into your files if you have them with you.
You can use VeraCrypt for encryption
