How do these alt codes work?

Anyone know how to get these alt codes from using just your keyboard?
(No copy pasting, only using the keyboard alt code way)

press alt then press the number pad at far right side of keyboard , if you don't have this part then try turning num-lock on

I tried that but they don't seem to work, that's why I am asking. Like try those alt codes I linked, try a few of them, they won't work...

Hold down Alt, then use num. pad then release the Alt key

Just copy and paste them, for whatever your wanting to use them for.

I did ALT + 7849
I then enabled num lock and I did ALT + 7849

I keep getting this ®

What I want to do is make a macro for every letter key on my keyboard (using Razer Synapse) so I can always type in "cool" letters. So thats why copy and paste won't work

Because the alt codes are wrong. Alt + 7849 = ®

Or a program or something where you can replace what character types what (temporarily)?

i mainly just copy paste it if I ever want to use it, seen as I barely ever use them

No but I want to asign an alt code to every letter on the keyboard, so I automatically type the alt code letter rather than the regular letter
