MyBB vs phpBB vs XenForo

I myself like mybb the most but maybe someone likes phpBB or XenForo too. I have hosted a forum with MyBB, phpBB and XenForo but now iam using MyBB and i like it most. Not saying name because its not done + advertising is not allowed.

If I had to pick out of the 3, XenForo.
But if I where to host my own forum I would make my own forum software. It would take a lot of time, But would be a amazing experience to learn from.

I prefer MyBB, it's easy and plugins are easy to install.

I've only heard of XenForo. It always seemed interesting to me but I wouldn't want to use it because it isn't "your" website really.

They are all good to use but in the long run, all have bugs and exploits that can be used against you.

If I were to recommend a forum board to use, probably XenForo out of all of them since it was made by an ex-employee of vBulletin.

However, MyBB is good as well.

phpBB is only good to some extent -> easy to use overall (same as MyBB)

I use phpBB. Xenforo looks good, but I couldn't justify $140/year for a license when I can get a good forum using the free ones.

Btw Xenforo can be cracked also phpBB is not the best thing

The Xenforo community actively reports users who use nulled versions. And phpBB is fine for my needs.
