[WTB] Iphone carrier unlock...

Iphone carrier unlock...

Hi guys, i've recently got an iPhone SE by a friend that asked me if i can unlock it, but regarding iOS i'm totally dumb since i've never owned a iphone i've always loved android...
So i'm looking for someone that can unlock the iPhone for me, i'll provide IMEI and other info if needed,

Depending on the carrier, it's either cheap or expensive.

If the phone is out of contract some carriers do it for free

What's the carrier?

Pretty sure you can call the carrier and they'll unlock it for a fee or something

Thanks for the replies guys, the main problem is that i don't know which is the original carrier.. i've tried a lot of sites that give you info about the phone with the IMEI but none of these have a carrier check..
So if any of you is more comfortable with iOS and iPhones in general and know where i can find the original carrier and then unlock it i'll be grateful and we can negotiate a price.

Borrow a friends sim card and trial and error and see what ones it blocks

Look up the model number in the settings or ask your friend. If it was your friend's they should know unless it's stolen.

Why would anyone SE a network locked iphone? I'm guessing this is done via Apple refund.

It's the iPhone model SE. The one that looks like a 5/5s.

OP have you tried going to settings and about and see what the carrier says?

Guys the problem is that the iPhone isn't from my country, to be honest really i don't know if the iPhone is stolen or not, it has been given to me by a friend that was asked by his friend if someone could fix it...
and as my friend told me his friend have found it on a journey, maybe is a lost iPhone but i don't think that is stolen.
however i guess that i'll tell him that i can't fix it, thanks anyway guys.

Ah I see where your getting at. It's iCloud locked. The phone is only good for parts. It's not usable

No i don't know if is iCloud locked or not, since isn't asking me to login on iCloud but just to insert a valid SIM however yeah i guess is useless as phone if i can't find the proper carrier and go through the activation process...
nevermind i was just trying to help a friend, it's not my phone i'm not an Applefag.

Because you can go to any location like Rogers, and unlock it for 50$, that's how it is in Canada, not sure about other places. Go to a retailer, ask them, if not, go to some asian place, they will do it for less than 100.

I don't know what's Rogers so i guess there isn't in my country.... Regarding asian repair shop, i could try but since i can't be sure that will work, i can't pay upfront because is not my phone..
What exactly they do at Rogers?
