But- but, still, you will have to do the driving test after.
If you don't want to pay for a class then a alot of practice tests are your best bet with tons of studying. It shouldn't be hard but there is a lot of information which you will have to spit back out.
I had to take a class before registering for my drivers license. After the class i had a written exam and a physical before they gave me my license. I could have either exchanged my license or apply for one but i didnt want to give up my international license :3 and im already a citizen so i had many options. a permit test should be easy
Permit tests are easy. Just keep doing the practice online tests.

I did that 3 times, went in and got 100%
Not sure how it's like in the US, but in Canada, I just walked in, and completed the test. Didn't even prepare
Honestly, most of it is common sense, but if you feel like you need practice, just do a lot of quizzes online.
I would go for driving as much as you can. Make sure you put yourself in the areas you're the least comfortable with, such as parallel parking, getting onto the highway, etc.

Down here in Texas, it was very short. We drove around on some small streets, through a neighborhood, and on a busier main street, but no highways.

Read the book they give you in drivers ed, passed mine first try
It should be pretty ez. Just practice until you get the hang of it.
The real way that I learned was failing. And learning from it
I just watched rick and morty until my IQ was 200, the test was very easy with such a high IQ.
