Currently trying to put together a PC for my little brother. And he asked for a $900 build, but would like it to be cheaper if possible.
Anyone have any suggestions to changing any of these parts for maybe something a little cheaper?
Also, is a 6 core CPU a little overkill?
PS: Probably wont be playing very many high intensity graphic games. You're welcome to scrap the whole build and give me a suggestion of your own. Cheaper and more bang for the buck the better.
You can always go for i3 processor and geforce 950
I'm pretty sure the GTX 1050Ti 4gb is $150 on Newegg
I'd also recommend going for at least 8gb of ram.
And who needs an optical drive?
Maybe the the ryzen 1600 for bang for your buck, but your parts depends on what you plan to use your PC for and we don't know what you are planning to use it for. (Microsoft word? Paint? League Of Legends? Pub G? Crisis?) Also mostly now adays you can just buy a pc CHEAPER than building it by yourself at RETAIL prices (not to mention the GPU isn't even at retail) - So unless you can find good deals you will be wasting money.

This computer is honestly overkill for what my bro wants.

I meant to have 4GBx2. My bad. And I just threw the drive in because.
I also plan on buying the parts from the cheapest website I can find available.

Idk, I know more about Intel than I do AMD. I've pieced, bought, and built a few intel computers, but never AMD.
Computer will be used for General use and gaming like League of Legends, Cabal, Crossfire, CS:GO. I cant see him getting into super high intensity graphic gaming.
big bruh
dont buy the 1050ti, you will regret it.
8gb of ram
cpu cooler , might as well go with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
CX 430W 80+ dont make me fucking laugh
and if you wanna go cheaper, switch to ryzen

Made a mistake on the RAM it was suppose to be 8. Switched the Cooler as well to your recommendation.
Whats wrong with the power supply?
Fuck ryzen.

Legit when I was trying to build a comp I went on Newegg and searched GTX 1050 TI and it was $150.
How about not doing a 900$ pc build, tell that lil bitch to work
I had a PC like this last year , CSGO reached 300+ fps so it is good for what you want to use it.
If you don't want to overkill use a Intel Core™ i3-7100 and a 1TB HDD , he won't need more.
Pretty sure he'll use this PC to play minecraft.
He can know kill pigs in 1000+ fps.
If budget is your desire, why don't you just buy used parts on craigslist or eBay. I bought mine parts from both and my PC is a moderately better and it only costed around $900-$1000.

All GPUS went up due to mining. i bought my 1070ti when it was 500 now it's 700+.
Nothing is wrong with the psu. it's just if he ever upgrades his cpu,gpu or anything he'll need more power. and yes fuck ryzen, it's just cheaper. it'll get the job done

this is a lie^
I have a 1070ti and a better processor and i didn't/don't reach 300fps @1080p
Seems decent, if I were you I'd just wait till st patricks day for lots of good deals on newegg, be sure to use Craiglist or Letgo for some other deals because sometimes people need to sell shit really quickly and you'll be in luck. I got a Titan X for $400 by doing that, I ended up reselling for $1200. Also @Insomniac I found him.

Eh it's such a tiny cost of the build he might as well get it, what he needs at that price though is some thermal compound @Toxin be sure you buy some and don't have metal on metal cooling lul.
