[PSA] Ban Information
Hello everyone. Recently there's been a lot of speculation regarding ban waves of clean, unhacked accounts being taken down - especially in wake of Noob3's publicity. I can confirm this to be true with multiple cases. Take note, the Dead by Daylight developers have been breaking their own rules as stated on their Official Website & Game Wiki in accordance to bans and their respective penalizations. BEWARE: Do not take their 'official' word to be true. At this point they're banning without recourse for any reason they wish, including personal vendettas, regardless of their own clearly outlined rules of penalization.
For example: In my case, I have a total of 3 accounts. The first was perma game banned for legacy & achievements. The second account was also banned for those reasons in addition to lag switching. However, the third account was perfectly legit and clean. Regardless of this fact, a HWID/IP Ban was applied to my PC and the clean account was taken down in the process. Keep in mind, according to their Official Website as well as their Official Game Wiki, this should not have been possible at all. For those unwilling to take a look at the specifics, HWID bans are only allowed to be applied to accounts caught with more than 3 previously banned alts (Reason: ban evasion). However, as I stated before, only two accounts of mine were unclean, so this should never have been possible. I would've had to cheat on two more accounts in addition to my two already banned previous accounts to achieve a HWID under 'normal' circumstances. But I was given one anyway.
There are more and more reports of clean accounts being banned without any apparent reason surfacing with each passing day. At this point, a case should be made to Valve on behalf of the community in a request to remove the dev's banning tools for unfair and negligent behavior. The rampant bans are out of control and are violating their own stated rules. We as consumers should not take these violations and abuses lightly, especially when accounts worthy of decent financial value that violated no rules are being penalized for absolutely nothing. Other developers of other games have had their tools removed from them because of similar antics in the past. These developers are no more protected than them. Remember: the ban tool is a privilege given by Valve, not a right.
