yeah

usually when it gives you that error thats the problem

needs to be true or false.
Code:
TextBox1.Passwordchar = "*"

That wont give you windows password char!
In the property menu to the right, it should give you an option. Just choose an option from there.
I think everyone is missing what he really wants, If I am correct, he wants to have a password typed in his text field which will display the password char (*) then upon a button click he wants the (*) to vanish, displaying the password. Am i right? If I am... here and enjoy.

Code:
Public Class Form1

    Public Property PasswordChar() As Char
        Get

        End Get
        Set(ByVal value As Char)

        End Set
    End Property

    Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
        TextBox1.PasswordChar = ""
    End Sub

    Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
        TextBox1.PasswordChar = ""
    End Sub
End Class
passwordchar isn't a Boolean.. its a value

textbox1.passwordchar = "*"
why dont u just put it in the settings? its faster
passwordchar isn't a Boolean.. its a value

textbox1.passwordchar = "*"
... where did that come form...

why dont u just put it in the settings? its faster
Again, everyone is missing the point , He wants to programmatically change the password Char from * (hidden) to "" (not hidden) on a button click, You can't do that in properties... and you Can't do that with a simple char change...

My code does exactly that.....
oh okay then just like you said
Code:
TextBox1.PasswordChar = ""
so problem is solved already O.o
Should be solved, But it's not just

Code:
 TextBox1.PasswordChar = ""
You need

Code:
   Public Property PasswordChar() As Char
        Get

        End Get
        Set(ByVal value As Char)

        End Set
    End Property
Otherwise you'll get a error.
