Some actress called Alyssa Milano started a sex strike in response to Georgia's wild new anti-abortion laws that 6 other states also passed.

I for one wasn't having sex anyway so this sex strike won't affect me. Get wrecked women.

No they can't part of the bill is punishments such as jail time on people who go to another state to get an abortion. Even if there were no punishments on people who go to other states, it's still extremely difficult and very expensive to go to another state to get the abortion. If you really do wish to get an abortion, expenses doesn't really matter, what we are trying to talk about if it is possible to get an abortion outside, then the answer is yes, we already knew how difficult and how expensive it is.

What a terrible take. Of course it is possible to get an abortion outside. Is it possible for you to go out and win the lottery? Yes. But we all know this is such a small possibility that you shouldn't go and buy a thousand lottery tickets. Same goes for this bill, if or once it takes effect, it will be possible to get an abortion outside but many people will not be willing or able to risk jail time or the loss of money.

Also news flash: expenses matter. If you want an abortion but can't afford to pay for it, you can't get the abortion. This is especially relevant since 75% of abortion patients are poor/low income and setting an extremely high barrier of entry(in the form of large premiums and making insurance not cover abortion) is just another way legislators and corporations make abortions extremely difficult nearing impossible for a lot of people.
