I'll explain it anyway.
Don't smudge the render, or at least smudge some of the sides to make it blend in.
But the smuding strokes you smudged, make it go OVER the render as well, and not by smuding the render.

I really like your smudging. Looks thouroghly blended, but the lighting on his forehead and hair seems too brighted. But I like it, 9/10.
