Need a little help... (patching)

I just downloaded cod 5 (illegally) and it works fine, but when ever i try to dl the patches it says Setup did not detect a valid Call of Duty(tm) CD Key. i tryed re entering my a cd key in multiplayer options but it still doesnt work.. any help please?

also i cant create a account any help with that? thanks.

However, you can't update it from game, try to look for patches one by one on google.

odd i used to use a pirated cd key and i never got this error
