[Help] updater
hey guys im making this application and i want to put an updater in it
i was wondering how to do this?
i want it to look like this
so that it detects your current version and see's if theres a new version and then if theres a new version you can download it with a click of a button.
Try the search button, there's a few tuts already posted recently so instead of making a whole thread, try searching. I'm pretty sure there's a link to one in the tutorials sticky, a thread on the second page of this section, and countless others besides. stop being lazy and expecting people to do your work for you when you haven't even made the slightest effort to search yourself.
Check the sticky of NextGen1, the tutorials thread.

Search for the updater, there are like 2 or 3 there.
I'm making an API for you
yea those ones aren't good for me

They're exactly what you asked for. Takes like one bit of tweaking
I've send you the link to my OS Downloader and told you to do a .txt file containing the version in this format: 1.0.0.0. Upload the .txt to your ftp. Download the string of that .txt file. Compare it with your assemblyversion. If it is different, download it(see my os downloader).

I told you via msn <.>
yea bt i need more of a tutorial sry bt im one of the ppl that has to see something to learn it

The problem is you HAVE seen everything you need to, even all the aspects contained in one tutorial, yet you're still here asking for source when all you need to do is edit one text file to say what you want and say which labels you want to display the version number, plus a download link
If you cannot work on your own and need to view a tutorial everytime to learn further, you won't get that far. Show some self-initiative, not minding that we have enough tutorials covering this.
IM thinking about taking everything we have ever wrote a tutorial on, and just creating a web service api so new users can just import the web service and use the code
