There are that many species *now
I was thinking this weekend while I was in the duck blind about the ludicrousness of Noah's Ark. For one, there are roughly 20,000 species of fish, 6,000 species of reptiles, 9,000 birds, 1,000 amphibians, and 15,000 species of mammals. That would take one hell of an ark to house all of those animals, plus the sheer resources required to feed them. There would also be the issue of cramped spaces and the animals fighting and killing each other, which would be unavoidable, therefor making some species extinct, since there was only one male and one female of each species. Then the issue of plant life being completely destroyed, thereby no food for the plant eating species. If the entire planet had been flooded, would there not be fossilized remains of sea life scattered across the continents? Next, with all life being destroyed, including flooded plant life, how was the earth's atmosphere oxygenated? Finally, where did all of that water go?

Mr. Lonely: @Alen I like making you wet, it makes me hard.
Grats, you've realized the Bible is full of silly horse shit.
Santa isn't real either.

i thought Christians believed that all of the species on the earth were made at once
by the way noahs ark is what i nickname my penis
Noah only saved one animal
What is funny to me, that certain things are relatively new to humans. The science of today if you will. Not even 200 years ago flying was just a dream, cars weren't a reality, and an so much more would just be unbelievable.(i'm just guestimating the years guys, no reason to go all nerd there).
But we act like "because we know ________" then this old story can't be true. Its so silly, we judge these old tales that really don't mean any harm one way or another, like its a literal declaration of war against science.
?_? Really wondering, if someone gets so serious about these stories, do they start riots during christmas?
I mean in what way does this story actually have an impact on anyones lives to a meaningful degree? You can't even use it as a theist defense. No one is gonna justify their religion on any logical standpoint based on Noah's arc. There is literally nothing to go against.
Wondering when people are gonna start realizing "oh hey, no one gives a fuck" about these old bible stories that are taught to mostly kids, that the kids end up thinking "oh thats a nice story" and moving on.
I understand the point you're trying to make, but there is one problem with it.
Noah's Ark isn't meant to be "just a story". It's one of many Chronological events that supposedly took place. If you take Noah's Ark as just a tale told to little kids, then you might as well take every story in the Bible that way. A Christian wouldn't be taking their faith that seriously is if this was their mentality.

Really, what grown man would use this with any relevance to any topic?
I was watching the news last year, and a former pastor was talking about it.
I've had conversations with people about it when I was a believer too,
and tbh how can you argue with them about it? The story is pretty ridiculous..
It does seem like a kids fairy tale..but it's still an even that Christians believe actually happened...so..
You really proved my point. This only comes up in conversations when some jerk is trying to disprove it.It has no relevance in any "i believe because of" topics, it really is just a moral story for kids.
Which is why i'm so bothered by the fact that atheist don't tend to themselves as they should. Its like making a thread on ANY number of stories and disproving it, so? Its not of any relevance.
