Please help i try to open my cf, yesterday it stopped workin, reinstalled like 4 times and all the time i get the following cf_patcher error:
" [Error] The local version is higher than latest version "
What can i do?

I have the same problem..i guess its normal at the moment...just try to start the patcher like 10 times, than, if it still didn't start, open the crossfire folder and start the "SelfUpdate"! Than try again to start crossfire a few times! This works for me

Yup the SelfUpdate doesntwork and the patcher either.
Its probably fucked up by gamerage...

i found one solution: it works the first run after reinstalling. so i have to reinstall cf everytime i wanna PLAY 
Delete version.ini (or rename it to version.ini.old)
It should solve the problem. At least it solved it on my PC (Win 7 64bit).
