Major Question
There was a thread made about how to change from 32-bit to 64-bit without using usb and CD somewhere by me. Please close that thread right away. Because I got one.

But before I install tomorrow, there are 2 questions I want to majorly ask.

1) Right now I have 2.00 GB RAM installed and 1.86 GB usable. If I upgrade to that 64-bit, would it change, like 5.00 GB RAM?


2) Right now I have home premium win 7 32-bit. If I install windows 7 ULTIMATE 64-bit, would that cause some problems to any of my hard drives?

No, upgrading to a 64bit OS won't magically make more RAM appear.

Your computer is only as fast as your largest RAM stick. Also, there will be no problems upgrading your computer.

The only difference between 32x and 64x is that 32x has a lock on your usable ram. 64x does't have the same limitations. So let's say you buy 16gb of ram, you'll only be able to use a fraction on 32x. With 64x you'll be able to use all of it. Ram doesn't magically appear. You'll still have 2gb. But in the future, should you choose to upgrade, you'll have a lot more usable ram.

I downloaded +4GB and how do I install it now...It just says "download complete!" and it's still the same 2.00 GB, I know why, I need to install it but like shepherd said above how do I install it?
