X-Trap error on startup
I've tried reinstalling several times and every single time I would get the error "The access to X-Trap patch server is unstable or X-Trap update wasn't able to run properly. Please, restart game." I don't use any hacks or texture mods, and the XTrap folder in my CF directory is empty. I've tried disabling my anti-virus, my firewall, adding CF and every application inside the CF folder to my anti-virus exceptions, running it in compatibility mode and in administrator mode, each one did absolutely nothing. Please, I want to play CF again!

It's just an error occurring from X-trap it self.
just wait like 10-15 mins then try to play.
OT: what is your cf version ?
I'm pretty sure the version is 1102, since the patcher doesn't update at all, and the setup says it's 1102.
Not sure if this has to do with anything, but the XTrap loader is frozen at initialization. Which is why I found the XTrap folder empty.
Try deleting the xtrap folder in your crossfire folder.
I'll try it, thanks for the replies.
Edit: Nope, it still gives me the unstable server error. Also, before this was happening, I got the "Failed to download version.ini" error and fixed that by pasting the proper text into the file itself and making it Read-Only, not sure if it has to do with XTrap though.

, Definitely not I'm pretty sure. The version.ini file is pretty much the file that directs the patcher where to download the new files. Pretty sure XTrap doesn't have a thing to do about it.
Are you using AVG? If so I would turn it off for the patching
i got the same thing... then i deleted everything in the folder, then xtrap upgraded and now it works fine
Try redownloading the xtrap file.
Sorry about not replying, I was disconnected for a few days. Also, I do not use AVG, I use Norton Internet Security 2012, and like I stated in my first post, I've added every .exe file to the firewall exception list.
Every EXE?

Not necessary... You should do the z8games folder only, lol. That basically gives exception to everything within the folder.
I should try that, thanks for the posts.

Edit : Seems like that's not possible, since NIS2012's Firewall only allows PROGRAM Control.

Reply back if works.
Have you tried disabling your anti-virus?
