You press the little badge on the bottom left of your post to give others rep. Others give you rep when they want.

This isn't Pokemon, you don't get your points up for leveling up and there's no cheats like rare candy and shit.
When you come to the forum, you participate for whatever fair reason, not to come and boost an ego because you want to play games with points, they mean nothing.

i think getting banned also gets you points

getting thanks, reps, and posting.
