Go to the file that the game says it's changed, right click, choose properties, go to ''previous versions'' and if you see any previous version available that was working at a past time, restore it(try to find a version that is not from too long ago and yet was working). if it doesn't work or you don't have any previous version, try with the whole Crossfire Folder(i'm not gonna lie to you it's gonna delay for the full previous version of crossfire folder to fully restore/about 5 minutes) and it should work. if that still doesn't work go to /C:dows/system32/drivers/etc./ and eliminate all that is in that folder.(try this method first before the restore process, if it doesn't work you can try the restore part).

DELETE button. Go to C:/wi.ndows/system32/drivers/etc./ and delete all files inside it.
you couldn't find any previous version from crossfire folder?

then try to delete the files from the path i mentioned.
And tell me something, go to control panel >> action center >> recovery >> open system restoration >> a windows will pop up, see if you can click 'next' and see if there's any restoration point(a restore point is created when you do a download of a software, update a program, etc.) :
1) now if you see that you can't continue with the restauration process then it's because you didn't activate it. and that can be the answer to why you don't have any restauration points to crossfire files/folder. you must activate it.
2)If you see that you can do the restauration of your pc( clicking the ''next" button) you can stop by there and forget about it. (DON'T RESTORE YOUR SYSTEM TO A PREVIOUS DAY OR HOUR ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE THAT YOU WON'T LOOSE ANYTHING IF YOU RESTORE IT) - you can change the system recovery settings to not delete the programs you downloaded after the restore point you choose.) it will restore your pc configurations as it was to the point you choose. it can be of much help and delete any trojan or other sort of virus that is messing with your computer, restoring your pc to a past time when it worked without any problem. that's a quick way to get your crossfire working again. i only restore my system if i suspect of any file that i downloaded and installed in my pc will shortly. but that being said, i think you don't have your restore points activated. because if you had, by now you would have crossfire previous versions to download by restore points created manually(by you) or automatically(at a time your pc changes).

No it won't. About the system restore, on the other thread that you created i mentioned how to activate the system restore... so the only solution for you at the moment is the one of erasing the files in the ''etc.'' folder, since you don't have any restore point created. don't worry, if you are not sure of it just delete the files in it and if it doesn't work you restore it from the recycle bin.
