1. connect to server
2. check latest version
3. ^compare to local version
4. download new file
5. patch/replace old one

I did this but it doesn't even make the changes to all who use it...

ofc it only updates the injector if they have the version that contains the update function...
I don't really get what you mean, but @Biesi seems to...
Anyway, @Nexero you should try some stuff yourself. You wont be a good coder if we just tell you everything

So why they made this section if no one will be real coder if he didn't get some help for his project ?
damn
Just sounds like you want to have the injector editable whenever it is started.
As others said above, you will need to have the application connect to a remote machine to download a new version or chunks of code to compile live and execute.

If you want edits to be made per-person, or on special cases, then use a login system to handle special cases per-user. So if someone with the login name 'derp' uses the application, he will get a chunk of code that just closes the application. Where as every other user will get nothing new and be able to use the application as normal.

First of all, try to tell us what you want. In at last 50% correct english...

He is looking for a way to update his application without having to resend it over and over again to his mates, As Biesi/ySoNoob stated already.

@OP

Biesi has already given a proper answer.

Store a file containing a version number, ie. 1.0.0.1 and the program itself on a webserver.

Now in your IDE, you may change the program version whenever you edit something

Now, when you are done changing whatever you have done. Reupload the version to your webserver, via ftp/ssh/control panel/whatever and edit the file containing your version information.

What's left to be coded is a system to check if the current version the user is executing is also the latest one.
To do this you download the document containing the version number.

Code:
   Dim wc As New WebClient()
Dim data as String= wc.DownloadString("http://www.yourwebsite.com/version.txt")
The data variable now contains the version number,i.e. 1.0.0.1 in our case.

Now compare it to the current assembly version.

Code:
Dim curVersion as String = Application.ProductVersion
Now compare both of them. If they are not the same, there obviously is an update available.

You need to download the new file now. Make sure it is not named the same as the current application, because you cannot replace a file that is currently opened, so how do you do that?

Code:
My.computer.network.downloadfile(address,destination) ' should be fine in your case
#1 Code a small updater(another application) and once an update is found, close the current application and start the updater. This lets you replace the other file since it is not opened anymore.

#2 The more complicated way(for you probably) is to just use a different filename and delete older versions on startup and rename the current one.

If you now ask for a full source code, I'll get you banned.

KEEP IN MIND: AUTO-UPDATERS ARE FORBIDDEN ON MPGH!

You may want to revisit school and learn the language I am writing in right now(English, if you do not know by now).

I've explained it in an extremely simple way.

You have two options:

Quit coding.
Keep on learning how to code until you understand my post(which is really just very basic stuff).
