About BattlEye
So, battleye is coming...

You may wonder why this has taken so long, or why we have not confirmed it before. We have finally agreed with all parties on how we intend to include this third-party software and how to use it within the Steam distribution of Arma 3. As with many things, this is not a simple copy-and-paste from Arma 2 technology.

BattlEye only bans by CD-Keys so we may all be given CD-Keys soon.

lol.

they surely would rather deal with the same cdkey nonsense again than simply banning by steam id, right?

well technicly BE is not a steam supported anticheat. So im hoping that they cannot steam ban you. Although, I myself find it hard to believe that they wont steam id ban you :'(

my point is that they can now use the steam id to ban cheaters as the game uses steam, they dont need to use stupid cdkeys. who cares if they mark your steam account as officially banned (like VAC does), they can still ban your whole account from BE servers.

its funny you guys think the key scamming will go on like it does right now and nothing will change when the game doesnt even use cd keys anymore. the game now uses accounts and thats what they will use for banning as well IMO. anything else would be stupid.

So what if key scamming dies? Ill just "Barrow" Steam accounts and/or game activation keys. And as your join date and post count suggest, I dont think you understand that the original Arma did not have an anticheat (IE No CD Keys) until after battleye was added. So it could just be a repeat. Only time will tell.

steam account theft is much harder and pretty ineffective and can even be reversed. its not gonna even be close to the current cdkey mess, so in essence every time you get banned you will have to buy the game for the full price again. you cannot borrow one-time activation keys, lol.

and your comment about me is funny, I have played arma for years and you obviously have no idea whats going on. the anticheat has nothing to do with cdkeys dude, in fact what you said is plain wrong - arma did have cdkeys before BE. Gamespy brought cdkeys, not battleye.

the lack of basic understandings in this forum is breathtaking.
I think they are going to encrypt the keys somehow
BattlEye is not supported by Steam, so I think it may be CD-Keys; we will have to wait and see.

you cant be that stupid to not get what I mean.

the game doesnt use cdkeys anymore, it uses steam accounts. BE bases its bans on what the game uses.

it cant be that hard to understand, lol?

EDIT: just found the following: http://battleye.com/. read the news, it confirms what i said.
