Computer Programming
My highschool offers a computer programming class, would that help learn more about coding?
You have skype? Will walk you through the basics / answer a few questions if you'd like. Username is same as here on mpgh.
-Lots of reading and practice : make as many 'basic/pointless' programs as possible just to get used to going through the motions. As it feels more comfortable, you'll pick up more.
Programming is in my opinion, an art.
You can read every book in the world about it, but if you don't practice, and don't have the right mindset, you're going to be an awful programmer, while conversely if you do practice, and have the right mindset, you can do great things.

Any bit of exposure can help so if programming is something you want to get into, do everything you can to learn more and more.
I would do it. You would have more motivation to learn the language as it is required to complete the course.
You should go for it bro.
Any information on another programming language, can help you learn another programming language.
Remember, when learning a programming language take your time, work with it.
It take years of practicing & lot of error making to get you far ahead in programming.
The are going to be times when you quit, and come back, then quick and come back to learn.
At the end of the day you are still going to make progress.
Don't think you need it, a programmer computer will bring you nothing, if you don't even know to code just learn some basics languages to start
