Ohhh, Kabam.

How do you guys think that Kabam already had
- A backup of the database
- A "broken" Nexus map
- A new forum
Ready for today?

Here's what I think :

One of the Kabam's GMs created an account named SwatSec (SwatSecOne?) and tried to kill as many people as possible.
The hopen result was to push out an old backup and a new forum without people complaining about the new design.
They also hopen that people will start to think that Kabam isn't a bad company after all, and there for their customers.

What do you guys think?

Edit...and they didn't have a backup they just revived all characters...and I'm sure they were just making the map while it was close

I'm just trying to find a great reply to someone that has a bad argument...

First off, they didn't have backups. When your characters die they are simply marked as dead, not deleted. This means that they can restore dead characters. The official rotmg forums and wiki were deleted permanently, which is why they had to scramble to put a new forum online. Also, Kabam has probably created forums for around 10 games now. They are experienced in setting it up and could get more than just the rotmg employees working on it.

Finally, I don't know why you're impressed by the new nexus. That would take a single person and hour or two max to make.

But what about all the items that were given (unreleased tops) that got Backup'ed?

UPDATE: My brother is one of the 80 testing players, and SwatSecMan is on testing RIGHT NOW!

No, just no. You DO NOT do something like that. and besides, how hard is it to make a nexus practically the same, just tile differences.

.........The base wasn't backed up. The characters were just revived. And besides, i do not think kabam would do something like this. You are just the conspiracy theorist(spell check anyone?).

It's not hard, the point is that it was completely unnecessary.

Well I mean it's possible..

Yes. What better way to run an online gaming business then to slaughter half your players. Just because right? Marinepower basically summed it up.

I wouldn't call the new nexus impressive, but i think it looks pretty good. I guess it's there for symbolic reasons to remember the massacre.

Swatsec has 3 admin testing accounts.

Putting that out there.

I was removed from testing for saying i would kiss swatsec. So eh.

an interesting thought. but id like to think that he was just some dick with nothing better to do. i mean i probably would have done the same thing with that kind of power :3... probably a good thing that its "over".

This is quite an interesting concept, but Kabam didn't need a Backup to restore items, all they needed was death logs, then they could code a small program to loop through and restore the items

This wouldn't even half surprise me if this was true.

Id like to see the broken nexus as some kind of roleplay

I am not sure they have backups since i have in my account a couple of cjuice from SWSec coral gifts. A restored backup would have deleted them.
