Updating Computer / Outdated!
Hey Guys,
I am not too great with understanding how everything works inside of a computer, all I know is that I need upgrades.
I own a Acer Aspire M7721 which I know is quite an old computer (3 Generations Old).
My main reason for updating my computer is because I study a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and I need to be able to run High-Performance Software Packages such as AutoCad, Revit, 3DS MAX etc. I am also a Gamer enjoying games such as Guild Wars 2/Bioshock Infinite/League of Legends etc.
I have recently updated my RAM from 6GB DDR3 to 12GB Triple-Channel DDR3 which has had quite a dramatic result since changing.
Now my current problem is whenever I am playing a Game like Guild Wars 2, I have to have it run of Best-Performance instead of Best-Appearance. If i change it to Best-Appearance, my FPS drops to around 20 FPS and the game is Laggy as shit.
Also, Whilst Running AutoCad, I find that the program lags aswell. Like, If I am rotating around an object, the viewport begins to lag and it can take a few seconds for it to get back to normal.
I am not 100% sure what I would need to update, but I do feel it may be either Motherboard or GPU.
Please Help and Share your knowledge with me, as I am a poor uni student with a laggy computer.
