How does the vault really work?

Hey all,
I was wondering how the vault actually works. Does it save packages each time you drag an item in and out of the chests? Or does it save a particular state? If so, what triggers the new save state? Thanks for your help!

edit: I meant "send" packages, not save them.

The client sends the INVSWAP packet to the server which switches the items.

Thanks for the reply. Is there something existing to view the packets? Also, do blank inv spaces send packets?

Use a ROTMG proxy source and compile it. Add a command to display the packet in the console.
Also, INWSWAP packet is

INSWAP <time> {Item1} {Item2}

Each "Item" is {OwnerId SlotId Objecttype}

OwnerId is either your id (you can get it from the CREATE_SUCESS packet), a lootbag id, or a safe id
SlotId is the index of the slot in the lootbag/player inventory
Object type is the integer type of the object in the slot , taken from the item's xml of the client. -1 means the slot is empty.

When you loot an object, you "swap an empty slot in your inventory with the one of the bag"
