Get Windows 8.1 for free, I've looked on PB but I can't find any trusted downloads on there and I can't think of another good place to find it.

I'm gonna install it on my SSD for my new build just because of the fact that newer games will be using it as a recommended OS, the first of which being BF4. So, any advice?

Windiws 8 is far better than 8.1 btw. 8.1 has serious game lag issues & stuff.

Windows 7 Ultimate, and 8.1 has far better performance for games and is faster than 7, it's just the fact that the start screen is gay as fuck.

If you have Windows 7, I would suggest first getting Windows 8 then Windows 8.1 to not fuck up anything you have on your PC, you can find it on Kickass torrents I think

I stick to windows 8, and will download 8.1 when the most critical bugs are fixed.

I won't need to do that 'cause my old hard drive with Windows 7 on it won't be used, I'll be migrating everything onto the new drive that is gonna ahve 8.1 installed, there shouldn't be any compatibility issues (I hope).

PB does have legitimate downloads from trusted sources.

I think I've found a trusted one, not sure it'll work but I'm willing to experiment with some torrents.

A clean install of 8.1 will have just as many bugs I'm afraid.

The "recommended requirements" mean absolutely nothing in regard to OS.
A game will run just as well on 7 as it will on 8. (Perhaps even better.)

Not according to the benchmarks, BF4 and a few others run 10-30 frames faster depending on the hardware and setting that you use, to me that's enough incentive to update.
