New camera

So after a long ass time looking at comparisons between the 600d & the Nikon D5100 I've decided to go with the d5100.

Both have different advantages over the other, the D5100 has won me over because of the price & the picture quality compared to the 600d/t3i.
It was a hard decision though due to the fact that the D5100 has automatic exposure settings in video mode while the 600d doesn't, the 600d also has better video quality and it seems there's less noise in it :l

We also just got new D5100's at school so I think I'm allowed to borrow one for a day or 2 to test them out and see if I like it before I buy it.
We normally use 550D's And I really do like them, especially the way they're built but I'm not a fan of the video quality.

I know almost nothing about cameras. lel.

If you're into opinions, I recommend just dishing out an extra 70 bucks or so and get the D5200. Good move buying from DR, by the way.

Thanks for the suggestion but it I did that it honk the price would be in the $800 range since cameras Re so expensive here..

Sorry, you're right. I was just looking at the body.

I dont know jack about photograffy and cameras, but after comparing them and if you say you like the D5100 over the other then go with the D5100.
Make sure one thing: are you going to take pics mainly? Video mainly? 50/50?

If:
Mainly photos: D5100
Mainly Vids: 600d
50/50: D5100

yeah i trust you on this, like I said, I dont know jack about cameras, and brands and all that.
If it was cars or PCs I could counterargument you but not being the case.... xD (probably will get owned anyway so I'll just shut up now).

I have the D5100 sitting right next to me and It's actually really nice.
It's definitely a huge learning curve but I'm willing to do that.

They're the same camera, just different names for different parts of the world
