irl Career Path

I have always wondered what some of your daytime jobs are, or if you are still in school headed towards a career in...

I'll start I am a Structural Engineer doing large transportation design projects. I find that I constantly am trying to find better computer solutions to our everyday tasks and trying to automate things. I am considering going back to school and getting an MS in a computer related field and I was just looking for some advice.

I'm sure there is a mix of super genius self taught 12 year olds and old timers.

I know this is a bit off topic, but I can't be the only person who has wondered about the people who make all these sweet rotmg hacks

Well, I'm currently a senior in high school. Once i finish this year, im going to go to community college for 1 year, then transfer to a different college, and get my bachelors in Computer Science.

I'm a Ex-Blackhat Hacker, Greyhat now.

I Mostly do Website development now, Php/Ajax/Jquery/Javascript. I Also do graphics.

I'm probably going to start freelancing soon. But yea, all of the things above are self taught.

Well I'm not old enough to have a great job, but right now I'm participating in an internship and in a year or two I'll be entering college. SAT's are coming up sadly and I don't know how to study whatsoever

I'm 22yo, i live in France, and i prepare my degree?(I don't know if it's the correct word) for being a Nurse, for some reason i hate Capitalism, and i won't participate to this shit, so all i found to make myself happy is to help people

I'm also learning a lot of programming and 3D stuff alone at home, i'am planning to build a zelda like game (just for fun), i'm also planing to set up some web sites for my city

Nothing spectacular, but for my own, i just can't work for a "Boss"

I'm really good at languages, I'm 15 and I'm fluent in 3 languages and learning my 4th one at the moment. The languages are french, romanian, english, spanish.
I would like to be a translator or something that revolves around that.

Im 16 .. Im a fail in life atm. I smoke weed on the basis when i can. My life is planned out for me already. Wealthy family.

I'm 15, I have always loved playing with computers but never had the chance to learn by anybody else than me and my good old friend google.
I learn fast, but I'm stupid. I have learned most of the english I'm writing right now by playing games (such as RotMG).
I spend way too much hours on my computer, but those will be rewarded, since I'm planning my future around that domain!
On the same subject, my school doesn't offer any course other than learning paint.net (I'm not fucking kidding).

I've thought about becoming a teacher to replace the old fart we currently have but the supplementaries years of school required to do that job aren't something I want to live. From there and so on, I nothing planned and any idea about what my future will look like. I live currently in a small french-canadian city, but I'd love to go learn outside this frenchie hole.
When I'll be older and wiser, I'd love to develop apps for systems such as Android and IOS, since, in my opinion, they are the future in term of k$sh m0ney.

I don't really know if that's off topic since I don't have any "career path", as you mentioned because I'm obviously too young but that was nice to write since those forums are not the place to write that kind of things.

Google is exactly how I learned, and in my opinion is the best possible way.

I couldn't agree more. When I was in college calculus 2 professor spoke English so poorly that the whole class started meeting in the computer lab and using google to learn. I think you can learn just about anything that way

Well Shit.... Here I am, reading all these posts about people who have a degree, or some 16 year old who was the next Steven Hawkings 2 years ago. I'm proud to say that I have a fun life and am decent at math, but all this programming talk is way out of my league
