[Help]Getting a pointer to a value in a game
I made an autoit bot for a game called PokeMMO awhile ago then dropped AI to learn C++. I'm 4 chapters into the book, just learning the basics but I want to continue to develop the bot.

So I am trying to use cheat engine to get a static pointer to the value of PP in this game (Pokemon game). It's a java game, emulates a rom and the cheatengine forums say this won't really work.
Can someone help me out, tell me how to read the memory for this game and call upon it in a C++ program?

Sorry bro you can't find a static pointer for an emulated program.
one thing you can do is hook where it writes to the value (usually it WRITES to alot of values so you have to create filters to find the right address you want) then you can store it and play with it.

to create filters is also hard you have to find something to use as a filter for example i have made a really strong hack for an online multiplayer Flash game i used pretty much the same method, i hooked where it writes the position of the player(it wrote also positions to objects and bullets and other stuff) and i found out that the value 128 is stored in EAX everytime it writes position of a player and i used it as a filter to get my player's address.

Glad I finally got someone to point me in the right direction at least. So I opened up cheat engine and found the address of the move again and pulled up what writes to this address and the info about it

024A6C52 - cmp ebx,[rdx+0c]
024A6C55 - jae 024A0320
>>024A6C5B - mov [rd+rbx+10],a1
RBX = 00000000
RDX = F43CEAE0

In a few searches I've done RBX is always 00000000, RDX changes (another search shows RDX=F9D740F8, another one RDX=FA061208, and last RDX=F91EFF98, all though RBX=00000000)

So if I set up a filter for RDX (Which changes)+10 I should always get the value of the address right?

Now the real question... how exactly do I go about doing this? Lol

Well after some searching around I think hooks might be way above my knowledge of coding... Maybe in a couple more months lol.
