Oh gosh no. The second one shows that you're trying to go for a more simplistic theme than before, the before one looks more colorful and epic in my opinion. Stick with the old one.

Second one looks much better to me
I'm no designer, but if I were to change anything, I would make the social network icons slightly more opaque/bold, standing out more.
Also, the white translucent box looks good but maybe a little too uniform with the corners, that might be what you want though.

That is indeed was I trying to attempt, minimalism. I'll see if I can incorporate more colors into the redesign somehow. Thanks for your feedback!

I'm no designer either, which is why I came here for some opinion. Looking at all the image across the multiple platforms (Mobile and browser sizes) I see what you mean.

Cheers man, I know brother! I've been super busy working on something for my old high school buddies. What IGN is that platform for btw and are you using MSN or skype as a social platform?

I'd even go as far as to say you could cut down and minimize the second one a bit more too. The colors seem a bit random and off to me. I'd suggest going with a select color scheme and sticking to that. Make sure you know your analogous, complimentary, etc. If not, I can send you a link to a great site for learning them.

The more simple your theme is, and less cluttered/messy it looks the better. It will be more pleasing to the eye, it will seem more professional, and will most likely end up getting you more viewers in the long run because people like that kind of professionalism in channel art, etc.

Obviously, you want to go with simple shapes and a minimalist look. You're on the right track, but overall tune down the colors, make it have some flow to it and not all jumbled as it is currently, and definitely make sure it isn't an obvious overlay layer brightening the colors. (Also, one small detail that's really bothering me is the fact that the X dividing all your letters, doesn't have an even width on both lines.)

Helps immensely my friend. I also wouldn't mind in taking a look at that website as well, if you don't mind that is.

I'll see what I can do with the overlay color gimmick and the 'X' divider is supposed to have uneven width (One thick, One thin). Sorry about being an eyesore man, just how I wanted it.

The crosses in the second one look way off. One is slightly bigger than the other.

If your trying for a simple clean look I suggest you make everything symmetrical as possible. And clean up and rough edges if you have any.
