Heroes of Newerth: Patch 2.1.0.1 and it's consequences

After the re-opening of Free-2-Play and the Early Access politic, the Heroes of Newerth Forum has been infected with multiple, huge and hating threads, with one common target: S2Games. S2Games is demanded to remove the Early Access option, and to give much more benefits to Legacy players, for 30$ is much more worth than just the ability to play a few heroes. A Forum Lockdown is expected soon, where only threads approved by Mods will be posted (e.g. Liz's Poetry Cafe sort-of). This is the highest influx of flaming threads I've ever seen. I can't even post a thread and have it in the first page for 2 minutes. It didn't get this bad even when HoN was DDOS'd, or when Matchmaking had been disabled for a week or so. Will be updating this post as the situation develops.

To be honest, I was pretty pissed about the F2P move change as well. Then, after playing a few games, HoN still seemed the same. There really wasn't any difference. What I do agree with, though, is the fact that legacy players need more benefits.

And nobody in HoN wanted the move to F2P but it still happened. I'm not saying that S2 should break the game making anybody with a legacy account 10x more likely to win games. I'm just saying that I paid $30 for a game that people now get free. Albeit I can play whatever mode and hero I want, considering that the game is free, the current benefits don't seem to be enough.

Nobody wanted noobs and new players to come and play for free when we paid our 30 bucks. But it happened. Either way, I do not believe that the raging is about F2P (I agree with Kable, though, full game access is bullshit, for Verified but not paid accounts can get full game access in just a matter of months, without paying a cent) but rather about the Early Access shit. S2 blows in my opinion. Hopefully Dota2 will kick its greedy ass. I do believe that they made it free because Dota2 is coming out and they know that without F2P their player base will reduce to -10,000.

It's their fault for not listening to the community; now most people who want to stay competitive will flock to DoTA 2.

I gave up on S2 when they kept releasing their own heroes instead of the community hero, and instead of adding gameplay changes they just kept pumping out their own heroes.

For fucks sake, add new items or maps or fucking game modes. Heroes change the game barely. Imagine CTF, that'd change everything.
