Here's a program that shows survivors in the lobby who the killer is and their steam profile.

I updated the app to add an option to automatically detect the killer and switches between characters, I also added a miniature version option so that the app does not occupy a large portion of the screen.

they patched the killer info, only the profile is available now and this doesnt worth. if someone found the killer info again, just open the log with notepad or something and read.

hey brother, been using the older version for a few weeks. Just wanted to say thank you and I appreciate you. Using this helped me so much when trying to play with newer friends and people just getting into the game.

It always sucks trying to teach someone the game who has less than 2 hours and we go against someone like plague, spirit, freddy, hag over and over and over. I will teach them these people eventually but if we played against them right now it would just kill the experience. Thank you for that

the old way was to search for the Spawn new pawn characterId 2684354. What is the new term/line that shows the killer?

Looks like all 5 players' SteamIDs are still shown in the log entries for AddSessionPlayer. That may be a piece of it, but you can still see the SteamID of the killer this way, available as soon as the lobby loads.

The main WITK thread was closed as patched before I got a chance to post this there, but I wanted to share this simple PowerShell script I made yesterday to read the log file just in case it or parts of it may help anyone out there. I didn't get as far as stripping the text to keep only the last 2 numbers and cross-referencing them to the killer ID list to output the killer's name, but it's quick to look that up manually.

This does not work with DBD 4.0.0 and newer
