I was trying to figure out how to run Vindictus on Windows 8. It hasn't worked on Consumer Preview, and it's not working on what is said to be the RTM build of Windows 8 (build 9200).
I am using the Steam version of Vindictus currently, but the results were the same with the non-steam version as well in the past. "VindictusLauncher" would stop working simply.

ntdll.dll seems to be causing the issue, and that seems to be the NT Kernel file or something like that. I tried taking the same file from a Windows 7 install and throwing it in the Vindictus and bin folder, and it had no effect.
I read somewhere that Hackshield liked to copy some .dll's (including ntdll.dll) somewhere and check them or something. Not too sure what it does, or if this is still done, but perhaps it's safe to say Hackshield doesn't work on Windows 8.
I was trying to look into a simple Hackshield bypass in hopes of trying to play, but I can't seem to find any "recent" one or one that isn't patched. I'd rather just use the bypass, and not an entire hack/cheat suite (not really my thing). So perhaps someone could point one in my direction? Or even better, maybe the exact cause for Vindictus not working on Windows 8 could be found and fixed?
