BEFORE YOU START REPLACING SOUNDS,BACK THEM UP, OR DELETE THEM IF YOU REALLY DONT CARE.
This seems pretty simple, but you would be surprised at the amount of
people that don't know it.
To start:
If you want to edit the sound of a gun, nade, etc. you need to extract them using RezXtract 1st.
EDITING BGM (BACKGROUND MUSIC)
1st off go to your combat arms folder -> game -> BGM
Each file has its own name that corresponds to different situations. In order for the sound to work
YOU MUST NAME IT THE SAME EXACT THING AS THE FILE YOU REPLACED IT WITH.
Ok, so say i want to replace the music that plays when im looking through servers, channels, etc. Instead of that crapy music i want "Replay" by IYAZ.
1.Go To combat arms -> game -> BGM and look for
BGM_LOOP.mp3
2. Drag that to a safe place if you want to save it, or delete it.
3. Find the song you want and drag it into the BGM folder.
4.Rename that song exactly "BGM_LOOP.mp3" no quotes
5.Start combat arms and you'll hear your song playing when u get to the log in screen
EDITING SFX (sound effects)
So you want a grenade to scream fuck you when it blows up? ok lets do it.
Like with the BGM, when you replace the original sound with a new one, the new one must be named the same as the old one.I'll be editing an m67 grenade.
1. Open rezXtract and go to file -> open file -> search for GUNS_SND_throwing.rez and extract
2.GO to your combat arms folder -> game and open the new folder created called GUNS_SND_throwing and select the M67 folder.
3.Take the "dryfire.wav" and move it to a safe place, or delete it, I DONT CARE WHAT YOU DO.
4. Take your new sound and place it in the folder and rename it DRYFIRE.WAV
5. Go throw a nade and listen
I'm not going to provide a link to RezXtract because its all over this section and if you cant find it i frankly think you dont deserve to be in this section
