I really want to go with Java since you can develop applications with it and stuff like that. I would appreciate it if someone links me a good tutorial :d
I would really recommend that you start with C#, Visual Basic, and then go into Java. Visual Basic is creating programs which you said you were interested in. Java can be quite fun, and is most commonly used in games, I started with Java when I created some plugins for MineCraft servers. It was fun, but also challenging, and I learned more than I thought I would. Good luck to you!

Agree. C# and Java are extremely similar. Most fun ive had was dicking around with Apache Tomcat(java web server) creating API's and learning the ways of the web stack

You cant just, "figure it out" theres so many aspects you need to learn first. BTW use visual studio to code and start with vb.net visual projects
Also, if you're going to study Computer Science/Computer Information Systems at university, your courses are going to have Java and C++ programming. I suggest starting with C#. It's fun and simple. Don't go with VB and make the same mistake I did. VB is almost obsolete in terms of job hiring.
thinking in java Bruce Eckel. A very good book.
Java or C# just remember to have fun
Java & C# would be the top things to start off with, as C# is very easy to get the hang of.
Checkout this site. This is helped me to learn a lot in the past 3 years. thenewboston.org
Just stick to the basics and start with C/C++. Especially if you plan to study computer science you will need that and will most likely start with those languages.
Java & C# would be good for you.
Start with Python if your completely new to programming you will learn the fundamentals and you can move onto Java
Hahahah buying a book for java? Its literally the easiest language you can ever learn. If you know basic logic, you can EASILY understand java. And if you have questions regarding certain functions or classes, eclipse has a feature that allows you to hover over the function and it tells you exactly what it does lol
