I need help with a pc..
Hey guys, i've an old pc with broken screen and i'd like to reinstall windows and use it with a external monitor..
i've searched a lot on google about it but none of the tutorial/guides works.. so i'd like to know if someone of you had been in the same situation
and if have found a solution.. i know that ubuntu and other linux distribution have a live boot that allow the user to display the config process on external monitor.. but windows don't allow you to mirror on a external monitor during the config process..
so if you know any solution to this i'd like if you share this with me, thanks in advance!
Is your external screen HDMI?

I don't quite understand what you're asking. You have an extra PC that has a broken screen so you want to resintall it and use one of your current external monitors with it? Are we talking about a desktop or a laptop?

Is an old laptop that i have, the screen is broken so i'm unable to reinstall windows because it won't let me mirror the config process on external monitor.. and i'm asking if anyone know a solution..

Ah I see. You could take the HDD out and use an IDE to SATA cable or whatever the HDD is. That way you can install windows on your desktop with that monitor. That's the only way I am thinking of now but that does mean you need to buy a cable.

Yeah i know that way, but i prefer to don't buy a cable just for this..

Yeah I can understand that. I am not really sure what else to do. Why don't the monitors work with the laptop? You don't have a port for it or it doesn't support the monitors?

No, the monitors work, the problem is related to windows that doesn't allow mirroring until complete boot.. so i have this old pc that now have ubuntu because this have a live config process that allow mirroring to external monitor.. now i'd like to reinstall windows but windows doesn't allow to mirror the installation procedure on a external monitor.. so i'm not able to install it because i don't see anything.
