You could just wait until next month and see if they offer a free char slot with the daily rewards again. Then thats a free character slot instead of spending $20.

I would suggest getting that pet up as well

When I used to play realm/RWT my goal was purely my pet. I suggest 100% to just feed your pet. In this case real world trade. Pick up some nice fp for around 10-20 cents a pop.
