Coinbase HELP

Ok ill make it nice and simple : DDDD

1. I make a coinbase account, used it for like 4 months and play around with with bitcoin (Buy btc with paypal and then use btc for giftcards/etc) anways then i linked ONE OF MY BANKS into it and it let me purchase 1k worth of BTC WITHOUT uploading an id.

2. I make another coinbase account because of i have ANOTHER bank and i want to be able to buy more then 1k btc (With 2 bank acc i thought to myself i should be able to by 2k at a time) but on the 2nd account it says i needed to upload my id?

Why??? is it because the 1st account is aged and has transaction on it so i didn't have to upload an id? How long would i have to age this coinbase acc?
