Windows Update | Ransomware!

Guys if you haven't yet update Windows!! Ransomware Worm was unleashed yesterday/couple of days ago, protect yourself!

I think this is just a bit of fear mongering to gain views for this guy, not hate against him as he seems like he genuinely knows what he's talking about. I think the key is to always be prepared for any type of virus and have the precautions in place before something like this happens.

Just reinstalled my Windows anyway

So far, so good. Please don't infect me.

It isn't fear mongering. There is a 0-day exploit that some security group allegedly tied to the US gov was utilizing to hack other countries. Now some chicken fucker took said exploit and is targeting all window machines that are vulnerable. A good firewall/router will keep you protected, but without updating your Windows OS you run the risk of becoming chicken fucker bait.

It wasn't considered a 0-day exploit at this point. Microsoft knew about it, it's just that they didn't bother to release a patch for OS's they no longer support. It's nobody's fault except for those who chose to use an operating system that isn't secure.

You don't need to download, install anything or other. Anyone, just like me or anyone other, can use the recent EternalBlue exploit (fruit of SMB protocol), leaked from NSA, to get a meterpreter session; then remotely inject a malicious DLL to a reciprocal connection between attacker<->target. I will need just your IP.
