Physical Lagswitch Reconnection Time

I've built myself a lagswitch using a CAT5e cable, cut the orange cable and chucked a switch in between ez as, i've done it before in the past. But the problem that i'm facing right now is that when I switch the switch back "on" and thus the internet back on, my computer doesn't immediately detect the internet again, and takes about 10-15 seconds before it reconnects to the internet. When I turn the switch off it displays a red x, not a yellow triangle.

I've also tried without a switch and just holding the orange cable together and it has the same effect. Anybody know how to fix this or what is causing it?

its the right way to use that method.

I thought it does not work now tho?

Software lagg switches are currently the only way to get past the 3 second wall.
