I don't feel like buying a data transfer cable so i heard you could actually plug in your ethernet cable into your labtop and it acts like a data transfer cable

Have you tried google?

3. shering
4. enable file shareing

in host computer
1.windows+R for run
2.type //computer_name

oR
My Network Places -> my workgroub computer select comp that contain shared file

Well, it's pretty much hard to do it. You need to sound actually believable, and have some balls (so that you don't stutter during the call, or sound nervous/fake). I'd recommend you just get a fucking cable, it ain't much of a big deal. I wonder why didn't Microsoft allow us to transfer data through a USB. Sucky.
