Ok so I need help with this,
Right now i have a potato cpu but a pretty good gpu.
I have a gtx 1060 3gb. Should i upgrade to a ryzen 1600x or a i5 7600k

Try searching online the two names for a comparison?

I think you should upgrade to i5 8600k

I'd recommend the i5 as well.
