I thought I had 4.56 installed...

I have 4.0 installed. Odd...

Maybe my OS won't install 4.5? No, that can't be it...

I think my registry is not showing me everything...

Pretty sure I have 4.5 installed.

If your OS is telling you that you don't have a version installed, it won't know to run the program with anything but what it tells you. Try getting your .NET version fixed.

EDIT: SpiderX uses .NET 4.5.2

Google was not helpful in searching for answers (but given Google's current business model that doesn't surprise me in the slightest)...

My only thoughts are that the Registry is not comprehensive. I've done all the fixes I could, repairing installs...everything short of a complete reinstall of Windows 7.

Tells me that 4.5.2 or later is already installed.

I could uninstall the whole thing and reinstall, but I remember not-so-fondly of the struggle I had with that the last time (repetitive failures)...
