Could use some tips on programs
Hi, I'm planning to make make my first mod, but any type of mod, a completely new gun mod. I'm thinking about making the WA2000 for the L96, but I'm not sure what programs to use, and how to do it, so I am asking if you guys can help guide me into the right direction of programs to model and make my gun. I have Photoshop CS4, and I'm need to know how to make the gun is .rez format, cause my computer won't read it in any other. Thanks ahead of time.
You're an idiot....
You're an idiot for not helping people who don't know something.

He's an idiot for posting 2 threads for help about modding, also for not reading the tutorials stickied ....
Unless you are sleepercell or can somehow bring the WA2000 from another game, then doing a l96 to WA2000 is impossible
I know its probably impossible, but I'm going to try anyways

You will fail all the way
fine, I'll read the modding techiques guide, and then I'll decide if ill stick to trying to make new guns, or just cross mod
Well Good Luck, great determination you have.
hmm, i know the WA2000 is kinda ugly, so i think ill make a g36 (non combat arms) to a m16 or something. I'll probably take the g36c from another game like soldier front, and render it a bit or something
Your goals sound quite silly, for the possibilities in modding.
sigh,i don;t know much about modding but i have made some mods b4, but after looking at the ca files, ive realized that making a completely new model is out of the question. But i DO need help on trying to make new skins, cause ive read the stickies, and im still comfused...
Extract .rez file (T file for Texture)
Find DTX for gun you want to mod
Download Photoshop plugins to open it in photoshop
Edit DTX file
Save DTX file as .DTX
Inject DTX file into original T .rez file
Backup the old .rez T file
Rename new <Filename>.reznew file to <Filename>.rez
Open ca and test
thanks, now i think i can do different skins, but i need 2 test it. ill post a reply after i get a skin done.
another thing... ive got the .ltb files, but my photoshop cs4 wont read it... it says: Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document. could anyone help me?
