FPS 60 HZ

This Video shows that even if your monitor has 60hz, when you game at 300 fps it CAN be better than gaming at 60 fps even though your monitor is displaying 60 frames for every second because the 60 frames that are chosen out of the 300 frames are divided out better. However there is screen tearing to be taken into consideration. This usually apply to games that involves first person shooters.

What do you guys think?

i didnt know, 1st i thought more fps = better, than i learned about screen tearing so i thought if you have a 60hz monitor then anything over 60fps can be bad, then i learned about the video above.

I didnt mean it like that. I meant that some say that for them even 60fps is bad, that they can only play on +120fps, everything below that is laggy for them. And there are others like me who play happily with even 30fps. Yeah, I know that theres a differenc between 30-60(didnt use 120hz monitor yet for long period so cant say anything about it), but its nothing game changing.

The first monitor to go above 60 Hz is around 2009

CSGO has been released in 2012-2013

Today it's March 7. 2018

Are you telling me a 9 years is not outdated
Your monitor cannot out put more frames than the suggested hz that monitor has, if I had 300 fps in Battlefield 1 doesn't mean my game actually runs that smooth with this monitor, it does, but the monitor cannot output more than 60, 75, 120, 144 frames per second, so it wouldn't really matter at all.
Well, he talks about FPS and HZ and shows it on CS:GO. But what about the bandwidth and lag that can happen with the internet? :P
I need 1000 fps to watch anime thighs in 240 hz, no exceptions.
but to view 300fps you need a 300 hz display, right? (sorry, tldw)

yes that is true

this isnt

because if you have 120fps on a 60hz display your monitor has more chances to always display the most recent image therefore keeping frametimes on an equal level which results in the game looking more smooth

id rather have 60fps with stable frametimes than 120fps with frametimes all over the place
