Not really a difference both are pretty much useless. You can just pay things with them... If you want a credit card which is excellent for travel and alot of other exclusive advantages you should go with AMEX or CHASE

visa has a lot of rewards, idk about MasterCard.
Both are solid but i rather go with VISA.

Depends on your country. Some countries have payment processors companies that only accepts one of them; either Visa or Mastercard (Usually they accept both). I would go for Amex but on third world countries you may find places they wont accept it because of it's high percentage charges to the business.
