So a buddy of mine ordered 3 items for close to 1100. They came and left it on the front door no sig. A refunder got him replacements to which he brought back to the store and had them refunded. A day or so later, he was recharge and he called them up and they said that they refunded him for the items he returned but recharged him for the original items. Anybody have any insight on this?
seems like they caught on lol.
well did he return the replacements or the first ones he orders, my guess is he returned the OG items so they saw they where "lost" and replaced. or the replacements ones are just connected to the order still so they saw that and knew he was doing fraud. they probably are assuming if its legit he will pursue it further and if its fraud he will just give up.
this is just my thought tho this is not based on any experience or evidence.
Yeah. He probably returned the original items on the original invoice. When returning the replacements a manager is needed to manually refund and input the new products as they will not match the original invoice. So, yeah. He messed up.

probably they caught on this daily crap. BB is almost rip as they canceled replacement, refuse refund... Now recharge if return replacement
If anything goes sideways, just call up your bank and dispute the transaction with your bank. Tell them exactly what you told Best Buy and within 24 hours, they'll issue you temporary credit while they investigate on this issue. In 60 days, the case will most likely close in your favor. Don't use this method too many times otherwise it'll do more harm than good.
Are you 100% sure you didn't return the original?

This has been happening for a few months now though. Bank dispute can work however. Big hassle.

yea, he said the bank is investigating. The only thing weird about it is he's telling me that best buy is recharging him for his 3 items and the refunder I used for the service is saying that BB has said that they have not recharged him. My buddy showed me his bank transaction and sure nuff BB recharged..
See, thats the problem when you call BestBuy. You get a bunch of different reps who don't give you a straight answer, nor do they really know whats going on. There's always an associate that deals with claims for BestBuy. These guys only communicate VIA email. Your refunder has to respond back to the initial email from the BestBuy associate to inform him that he was incorrectly charged for a purchase. The telephone reps are of no help in this matter. If I were your friend I would just let the bank know that there's a issue with BestBuy where they charged him for a purchase he does not have, this way theyre aware of the matter and just let them know you're working it out with BestBuy at the moment but if nothing is resolved, I would like the institution to get involved. Going through your bank for appeals or disputes causes your credit score to take a hit, (minimal). As well, as this dispute will follow him around for a very long time. BestBuy also serves the legal right to appeal any dispute made by the creditor up to 1 year after the appeal was decided in his favor, (which it will be). It's never a good idea to use the bank as your avenue. I would strongly urge you to just get in touch with the refunder and have him respond to the claim case manager (associate) who sent him the first email.

You use bank for safety of your funds. You pay them for a reason. If there is a problem with your funds being taken without your approval, you have the right to raise a bank dispute, and receive your funds back. Raising a bank dispute does you very minimal harm, other than it staying on your history if you were to do it again. Simple solution is to change banks.
