Camera lens refund

Is there any store where u can refund camera lenses that doesn't keep track of the serial number of the lens? If you check an expensive lens on the forbidden site it says there that they register the serial number with loss and theft databases to prevent fraudulent use or resale of the item. I know for a fact this is 100% legit with some other small camera stores as well.

So is there anyone have refunded a lens from a store before?

Best Buy would probably be your best bet.
