if youre looking for raw performance intel is still kind

but the 9900k is also as hot as an oven when having all cores at 5ghz so powerconsumption sucks

price to performance wise amd kicks intels ass right now

if we know your budget i could give a better recommendation
Intel all da way
Intel had some serious over heating issues with AMD
Best Price to performance processor : ryzen 7 1700x $150 - on sale rn and what most people should buy. Watch @techdeals on youtube
Budget CPU with integrated graphics : ryzen 3 2200g $80
Best Performance = i9 9900k $650

What about other CPUS??? : Not really worth it imo when you have a beast deal (ryzen 7 1700x for $150)
what about ryzen 2700x/2600x??? > Not worth extra performance for cost

If you're going to go intel, and you have the $500 + for the 9900k (assuming it's in stock) then sure just get it, but that it's price for performance, that's best performance.

EDIT: if you're ONLY goal is to play games without video editing etc/..... Ryzen is still a good choice for price to performance and it can play games. Some people argue that if ur only goal is to play games then get an intel chip? with the ryzen at these prices; i don't think so anymore. Your use of a computer has to be pretty specific for you to be choosing an an intel chip that's other than the i9 9900k

intel is still faster even at lower prices such as i5 8600k ($260 + 30-100$ cooler) beats ryzen 7 2700x ($330) in games

You get a lot more perfromance from the 2700(x) than from the 8600k

Clocks may be higher which gives some games an advantage but for anything else ryzen is better
Intel master race.
If you don't need Security and support, that i can execute harmful code on your Machine, pls buy more Intel Processors.
