AMD or Intel

What's your budget and what's your GPU? If I were you I'd spend as much on the GPU as possible and buy a processor with a good price/performance ratio. (Including the motherboard price tag.) Considering the high prices of Intel CPU's lately, depending on the budget, I'd go for a AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or a AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (but I'd rather spend the extra money on the GPU).

Anyway, both top rated AMD and Intel CPU's should be more than sufficient for gaming, the GPU will be far more important.
